One Week Down

So it has been a week since I have posted, time flys! Week 1 of work was really great! Everyone has been really helpful and has been very patient with me as I am learning everything! I think the hardest thing is wanting to be able to dive right in to everything but not being able to do so. While I have learned a lot in law school and know that I have gotten the best education, it is one thing to know the law and it is another to actually practice it.

During my many sleepless nights in Practice Court at Baylor, I sometimes wondered if I would ever even use some of the information that I was killing myself to learn. And low and behold, I am actually using it. This week I had to draft a jury charge, a motion to strike, and a motion in limine which would seem like another language to me had I not been forced to do this already. So to all my friends in Practice Court right now, hang in there, because there will come a point when you are thankful for the experience!

Other than work I have just been enjoying being back in Austin, spending time with family and friends! This weekend my mom came in town and helped me set up my office. It's crazy how moms have such an amazing touch! I stared at my office all week racking my brain trying to figure out how to make my office more Trisha-esque and just kept drawing a blank. My mom spends one hour in the office and makes it a thousand times better. My mom also bought me two little baby trees for the balcony at the condo and we planted those this weekend. Okay, so mom planted them and I pretty much just watched but I was there for moral support haha!

Went for a jog on town lake after work, now I am hoping that I can make that routine so that I can get used to running again! Now that law school is over, I am running out of excuses for my lack of ability to work out haha!

So tonight I started to watch the Bachelor Special on TV, something about an Inside look to the Bachelor, can't remember the exact title. As I am watching it, I went back to thinking about something I have wondered now for a long time, what is the deal with people's fascination with reality tv. I mean it seems like it has just totally taken over television. I feel like everyone has at least one reality show that they love and that is part of their weekly routine. Whether it's the Bachelor, American Idol, America's Next Top Model, Amazing Race, Survivor, Real World, JERSEY SHORE.... the list goes one. I mean, I am not innocent, I catch myself watching it when I am watching tv. So what is the deal, why are we so fascinated with other people's lives?????
